"Of the tyros' works I was most taken by Evan Hause's labyrinth of flames, played by clarinetist Theresa Tunnicliff, violinist (Tamae) Lee and pianist (Michael) Klein. Apparently in two parts, the turbulent, dynamic opening section ignited by fierce clarinet trills was succeeded by slow piano chords and a violin meditation growing steadily stronger in very involving progressions.
